13 Signs You Have a TOXIC Tooth Infection and How To Treat It Without Going To The Dentist

Abscessed tooth is the term dentist use for tooth infection which happens at the root of the tooth where the gum line meets the tooth.

It can be really bad and may lead to decay and is caused by bacteria seeping into crack, chip, dental cavity, and works its way to the root. If the infection is not treated severe inflammation and pain of the tooth and gum can be caused.

These problems can occur when the treatment of this tooth is avoided, and that can infect the bone that keeps the tooth supported. Things that cause an abscessed tooth are a diet high in sugar, gingivitis, sticky food, poor dental hygiene, and severe tooth decay.

But, main symptoms are: pain when chewing food, cheek swelling, difficulty swallowing food, fever, swollen lymph nodes, bad breath, sharp and throbbing toothaches, sore and red gums, and discomfort in the pained area.

HOME REMEDIES:

1. WATER AND SALT RINSES

This can be helpful with alleviating inflammation, and stopping the growth of bacteria because of its antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 glass of warm water

Directions:

You need to pour the salt in the warm water and mix it well. With this mixture rinse your mouth and spit it out. Repeat this 3-4 times a day to reduce the pain and discomfort and also eliminate the infection.

2. OIL PULLING

It is method helpful with treating sore gums or abscessed teeth. It will lessen the amount of present bacteria and toxins from your body.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • Warm water

Directions:

You should pour the coconut oil in your mouth and  swish it inside your mouth for 15 minutes. When you done with it spit it out. Than rinse your mouth with warm water and repeat this method twice a day.

3. GARLIC

It is full with anti-inflammatory properties that will help to eliminate toxins and pain. Garlic  has allicin which is an antibiotic that wards off bacterial infections.

Ingredients:

  • 4 garlic cloves

Directions:

First you should peel the cloves and then crush them to get the juice out and apply this natural antibiotic on your abscessed tooth. Do this 2 times a day. Optional you can also eat 2-3 garlic cloves.

4. WET BLACK TEA BAG

Black tea is powerful against infections and it contains antioxidants that are effective in absorbing pus and toxins from the dental abscess.

Ingredients:

  • warm water
  • Black tea bag

Directions:

Put the bag in warm water to soak for a few minutes. Than take the bag out and apply it to the swollen gums while sucking on it. Let it for a few hours or overnight. Rinse your mouth with salt and water one time daily for a few weeks.

5. HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

This is substance that is amazing in fighting off tooth abscesses as it has a potent antimicrobial component. Hydrogen peroxide is also full with antibacterial and disinfectant properties that will hill off bacteria that lead to these teeth problems.

Ingredients:

  • Cotton ball
  • 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide
  • Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of warm water

Directions:

Prepare mixture of 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tablespoon of warm water. With this mixture  rinse your mouth and spit It out. Add  1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide to create a paste. Apply  the paste on the affected areas to say a few minutes. In the end rinse your mouth with warm water.

6. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

It is an old home remedy for abscessed teeth. Acetic and malic acid are excellent anti-bacteria’s, anti-bacteria’s and antifungals that act like powerful substances against abscessed teeth. It contains disinfectant and anti-inflammatory properties that can relieve pain and inflammation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar

Directions:

You can use ACV as a mouthwash and leave it for 5 minutes in your mouth. Do  this 2 to 4 times daily for a month.

7. TURMERIC

It is proven to lessen inflammation caused by abscessed teeth. Turmeric  abound in antiseptic, antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties and also helps promotes oral health.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Warm water

Directions:

In a little water put 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and make a paste. Put the paste directly to the affected tooth and let it stay for 15 minutes. Prepare mixture of 14 teaspoons of turmeric with 1 teaspoon of olive oil. It present other paste you need to apply on the affected tooth for 15 minutes.

8. OREGANO OIL

It can help you clear the infections due to its antibacterial, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. It is used for abscessed tooth because it helps to numb the area. It can also help you boost your immunity and fight the tooth infections while speeding up the healing process.

Ingredients:

  • cotton swab
  • 2-3 drops of oregano oil

Directions:

With cotton swab apply a few drops of oregano oil on your affected tooth and leave it for about 5 minutes. Prepare a mouthwash with 3 to 5 drops of oregano oil with ¼ cup of warm water. For about 5 minutes swish this mixture in your mouth. Do this process 3 to 4 times daily.

9. PEPPERMINT OIL

Peppermint oil can reduce inflammation and relieve you of the pain that is associated with an abscessed tooth because it has antibacterial and anti—inflammatory properties.

Ingredients:

  • cotton swab
  • 2-4 drops of peppermint oil

Directions:

Take cotton swab and apply the oil on it and hold the swab against your tooth for a few minutes before letting go. Apply the oil with your finger and repeat the process 3 to 4 times in a day.

10. POTATO

It has acidic properties and these help to shed away the dead cells and other toxins from the body.

Ingredients:

  • One slice of raw potato

Directions:

Cut  the potato in a few slices and put it against the affected areas. Let the slice acting for about 30 minutes or even overnight. After you remove it you will notice a bit of discoloration but this is due to the toxins that are pulled out of the infected tooth.

11. CHAMOMILE

It can heal damaged tissues because  contains anti-inflammatory properties. Use chamomile to treat an abscessed tooth in herbal form or tea form.

Directions:

Consume daily 3 to 4 cups of chamomile tea. Also you can apply chamomile over the affected area to soothe the swelling. If you hold it against the infected tooth wet tea bag can help you.

12. ECHINACEA

With Echinacea can be relived  the pain and inflammation caused from infections which is a natural antibiotic. Also find Echinacea in capsules and tinctures.

Ingredients:

  • Echinacea herb
  • water
  • 1 teaspoon tea bag

Directions:

Apply the herb or the teabag in warm water and leave it to soak for about 5 minutes. Use this mixture to rinse your mouth 2 to 3 times a day.

Here are some tips you can follow to avoid getting an abscessed tooth:

  • Replace your old toothbrush with new every 3 to 4 months
  • Consume healthy foods instead of junk food
  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day
  • Use antimicrobial mouthwash to swish your mouth every morning after brushing your teeth
  • Quit smoking
  • Avoid caffeine if you suffer from tooth pain or infection
  • Do not chewing too much gum
